The birth of human life is generally a hopeful matter. Yet to the artificial life created by Lab 1718, what lay behind their creation was little more than an evil conspiracy and murder, without blessing or joy. And the pure cyborg Alpha is the extreme form of the blasphemy against life forged by Laboratory 1718.

Fifty years ago, due to his differences of ideas on human experimentation, the great scientist Dr. Baker parted ways with Eruditio. Fueled by dreams of human augmentation as a means to advance the human race, he founded Laboratory 1718 on an island.

For him, even though he and his laboratory separated from Eruditio, their ultimate goals were the same: to ensure a prosperous future for the human race.

Yet what he never expected was that the addition of additional mad scientists to his laboratory team would lead to a gradual loss of control. In the end, the extremely idealistic scientist was stabbed in the back by his colleague, Professor Giraad, and the scientism fanatic stole all control of the 1718 Laboratory from him.

Yet his prestige and appeal were nothing compared to Dr. Baker, the founder of the Laboratory. A conflict of interest then began with many parties with divergent ideas.

Octavius ​​was another scientist driven out of Eruditio, and different from the others obsessed with human and biological experimentation, he had a more ambitious goal: to create a human composed entirely of mechanical materials with his own conscious mind. He proposed Project "Alpha-Beta", a plan in which a set of superpowered twins would be created - Alpha and Beta.

However, those responsible for the 1718 Laboratory were not interested in such ideas and Octavius ​​​​'s project was rejected by all. However, he continued to wait patiently until the opportunity presented itself.

Until that day finally came, Octavian was almost completely destroyed.

During this deep night, the augmented human Saber could no longer withstand the torment of the system that manipulated his nervous system. He devastated much of Laboratory 1718 and fled, with Octavius's own Laboratory not spared in the chaos. A huge amount of expensive scientific equipment was damaged and Beta, which was still in development, completely destroyed. Only Alpha, who had not yet settled into his own body, was unaffected. Almost all of Octave's countless years of sweat and toil went up in flames.

Rushing to the scene, Octave howled with laughter – everyone assumed he had finally given in to madness. Yet only he knew that a brighter dawn was yet to come.

Saber's chaotic escape had been a disaster for the 'human weapons' plan. These were the experiments presided over by Professor Giraad, the most important of Lab 1718's projects. These scientists, seething with rage towards Eruditio, planned to use Saber to devastate the city that had so humiliated them.

With the plan having failed and all hope lost, Professor Giraad came under heavy criticism and was forced to leave the spotlight. It was at this time that Octavius ​​seized the opportunity that had presented itself and presented his own proposal: "The self-aware cyborgs will bring only betrayal, but a pure, man-made human: they will always be faithful to the ideals of Laboratory 1718."

And so, with the unprecedented financial and technical superpower that was Laboratory 1718, Alpha was born.

His appearance was similar to that of a knight adorned with heavy armor. Just as his creator had intended, he was blessed with an unwavering loyalty to Lab 1718. Furthermore, he also possessed the latest technology in terms of power and weapon systems, far surpassing that of other robotic beings created by scientists, a true Alpha in both name and nature: a superior mechanical fighter.

Alpha had a flesh body and cortex identical to that of a young adult male, but at the same time, he was actually still a newborn being. Like a puppet, he leaned on Octave and was at his disposal.

Alpha's first mission was to destroy the traitor Saber.

Alpha brought with him a special companion: the transformed fighting machine, Beta. So they went looking for Saber. What even their creator Octavius ​​did not predict, however, was that the seeds of sentient thought had begun to germinate in the recesses of Alpha's mind.

Alpha remembered as clearly as day the night Saber had betrayed them: he and Beta had attained consciousness at the exact same moment, and they were even connected together on a deeper level.

When Saber burst her way into the lab and attacked Beta, Alpha had felt every ounce of Beta's crushing terror as if it were his own, and a new sense of dread too – even though he didn't even know what it was at that moment…

From humanity's perspective, this feeling could be described as "hate." The consciousness connection between Beta and Alpha was so strong that it was as if they were a single entity. It was a bond that extended far beyond the simple blood relationships experienced by humanity. More than just machines from the same batch, they were true brothers born together. However, Saber had taken Alpha's brother from her...

On a dark and stormy night, similar to that of Saber's escape, Alpha found the traitor.

The first time they crossed swords, Alpha was heavily damaged and Saber prepared the killing blow. Yet that's when Beta charged between them to block him.

More unexpectedly, Saber sheathed her blade. He looked at Alpha and Beta, both in a terrible state. He had once viewed them as mere puppets, controlled by the scientists of Lab 1718. Now, however, he sees that beneath their flesh and mechanical skeletons lie greater possibilities. He smiled, as if to provoke 'Alpha, and said in a mocking voice, "You soulless pieces can never hope to defeat me in battle.

Disappearing into the rainy night, a question tormented Alpha's brain: what exactly is the soul?

Alpha has not lost hope of revenge. Still, he thought that the secrets of this "soul" Saber mentioned must surely lie in making himself stronger.

When the violent storm finally cleared, Alpha was staggering with Beta in her arms, the results of the calculations flickering wildly throughout her heart: soul is power. I must find my soul!
