Leader of the Order of Light, guardian of the Moniyan Empire.
Story
Tigreal was born into the noble Wertz family. Since the establishment of the Moniyan Empire, House Wertz has continually provided military talent to the empire and guarded Moniyan's imperial power and national security for generations. The Tigreal generation is no exception. His father Gareth is the Empire's Minister of Defense and the Emperor's right-hand man, while his uncle Eckert is in charge of the border guards stationed in the most dangerous area between the southern part of the Empire and the Land of Despair.
Although thousands of years have passed since the shocking changes that divided the empire, rumors and threats about the Abyss, heretics, and terrible creatures have never been far away. Since he was a child, Tigreal has received systematic military training in Lumina City, constantly learning various combat skills such as fighting, swordsmanship, and horse riding. The whole family had high hopes for him, hoping that one day he could take up the banner of his father's generation and become the most loyal and faithful guardian of Moniyan.
At the age of sixteen, Tigreal joined the Imperial Army with full dedication and was drafted into the ranks of the Garrison Army. During his four years in the Garrison Army, Tigreal led his troops to almost every part of Moniyan, further exercising Tigreal's command and leadership ability, earning him the favor of the Order of Light.
Subsequently, Tigreal joined the Knights of Light thanks to his exceptional military talent and leadership ability. In the Moniyan Empire, only the most loyal and courageous fighters who had undergone extensive training were eligible to be elected Knights of Light, and Tigreal became the youngest member of the Knights in history. He was the glory of his family and a genius in the eyes of the Moniyan people. Everyone believed that he would become a hero in the history of Moniyan, just like the martyrs of previous generations of Walk of Heroes.
However, few people have such a smooth life. Just when people thought a star was about to rise, a heavy blow soon fell on Tigreal. In the Drylands, in a battle launched to completely drive the demons of the Abyss, who had long held the area underground, Tigreal served as commander of the Second Regiment in an army composed of the Order of Light and the Imperial Border Guard. He was deployed on the left flank of the battlefield and launched an attack against the demonic army. However, due to an error from the command center, the second regiment went in alone and was besieged by the demon army.
Subsequently, the command center ordered the Second Regiment to leave some of the soldiers behind to close the rear and disperse to break through the encirclement. At this time, Tigreal was determined to live or die with his troops, but the elderly and experienced deputy Roland stopped Tigreal and caused him to retreat with the main force he commanded, while he and a small number of fighters held off the enemy. Aiming to retain a few effective soldiers, Tigreal reluctantly led the troops to withdraw.
After the battle, the demonic army, which had long been entrenched where the southern part of the empire met the Barren Lands, was completely wiped out, but only the Second Regiment suffered heavy losses, the unit remaining to hold back the enemy having been completely wiped out. Looking at the dead bodies and blood all over the ground, Tigreal felt full of guilt for the decision he had made.
After this battle, in order to cover up their mistakes, the senior officers of the Knights refused to give the soldiers of the Second Regiment the honor they deserved, and called these soldiers "disobedient" because they were greedy for merit and this led to unnecessary sacrifices. Subsequently, they tried to use the medals and promotions to encourage Tigrayal to remain silent. Feeling the stress of the unsuccessful struggle and pressure from family, Tigreal left Moniyan and came to the cold Northern Valley. In the icy and snowy north, Tigreal formed a deep friendship with the rugged tribes of the Northern Valley and, more importantly, fighting side by side again and again, Tigreal realized that as a knight, the life of a companion is more important than the outcome of a battle: because we choose to fight to protect everyone around us. If fighting only means sacrifice, then victory has no meaning.
After that, Tigreal returned to Moniyan, returned to the Knights of Light, and became the leader of the Knights over the years, guarding everything in Moniyan with determination and bravery day after day. In folklore, as long as there is a place where darkness invades, there will be the fearless Warrior of Dawn to guide everyone in chasing away the darkness.
Did you know?
- Tigreal's passive has been reworked twice to date.
- His first passive granted him a bonus to armor and magic resistance when he made a basic attack, stacking up to 5 times.
- His second passive granted him 15% more armor and magic defense against items.
- There are many inconsistencies and ironies in Tigreal's quotes:
- “A real man never hides in a bush,” while most Tigrayan players hide in the bushes.
- “A true knight never says die,” but he has said it before.
- He is based on Bedivere from Magic Rush.
- His current English voice actor, Zach Lazar Hoffman, also provides the voice of Yu Zhong, as does his current Japanese voice actor, Yano Masaaki, for Alucard and Barats.
