Story
To the south of the Moniyan Empire lies a bottomless chasm, carved into this barren landscape as if an ancient demon used the sharpest blades to carve a disfiguring scar into the Land of Dawn. People call this the Shadow Abyss.
Locked at the bottom of this legendary abyss is the most terrible demon in the Land of Dawn: the Dominator of the Abyss. But as the seal slowly fades, the will of the abyss gradually strengthens.
The demons at the bottom of the abyss continually hatch plots to strengthen the power of darkness, persuading misguided believers to offer them sacrifices for their evil cause. They use these sacrifices to feed the "Devil of the Abyss", a monster formed of the purest dark energy that waits in the darkness to devour its prey.
Selena, a young Dark Elf, was sacrificed to the Shadow Abyss by fanatics in exchange for dark energy, and as Elves are the Devil of the Abyss' favorite sacrifice, Selena was immediately offered by the demons. The Abyss Devil thrust maniacally into Selena, intense pain and despair spreading to every corner of the young Elf's body. Just as she was about to be consumed by the dark magic, a miracle happened: a warm blue light enveloped the girl, and the dark abyssal magic and this mystical power began to wage a savage battle inside her fragile young body.
Selena awoke to find herself lying in the depths of the abyss, her skin now a mysterious blue tone and her lavender eyes filled with a scarlet glow, with the Devil of the Abyss lying quietly beside her.
The Abyss Demons were busy wondering what had just happened. They didn't know that the will of the Abyss had arrived. This girl is deeply loved and that love has protected her from darkness. The Abyss and the Moon Goddess – these two opposing forces have achieved balance within his body. An ancient and heavy voice echoed in the demons' minds: "Leave these girls to me." She will become the most powerful warrior in the Shadow Abyss! The demons obeyed the orders of the abyss and left her there. When Selena reappeared before the demonic inhabitants of the Abyss, with the Devil of the Abyss at her side, she had completely forgotten her past.
She discovered that she could skillfully manipulate the abyss to release dark magic, a demon capable of tearing her enemies to shreds. The will of Shadow Abyss designated her as its voice, making it her duty to rule over the demonic inhabitants. Even the proud Queen of Blood Magic began to feel disconcerted upon seeing this young Dark Elf, not only because the abyss had chosen her, but also because Alice could sense the terrible power that lay inside this seemingly cute and mischievous young girl.

- With the exception of her base skin "Wasp Queen", all of Selena's skins were initially released for a limited time.
- The name Selena comes from the Greek name "Selene" (Σελήνη) or Selina, meaning "moon" or "moon goddess". In Greek mythology, Selene was the Titan goddess of the moon, often depicted riding a chariot across the night sky.
- Selena was one of the first MLBB heroes to have two distinct skill sets in one hero. Her switching mechanics make her both an assassin and a mage, depending on the form.
- According to lore, Selena ignores and breaks the rules of time, meaning that even if time is stopped, backwards or forwards, she can do the exact opposite of any of the three that happens.
- Selena was supposed to release on Chang'e's release date, but the developers decided to delay her release until a month later (after Kaja) because some of them saw her as overpowered and others saw her as underpowered.
- Her Abyssal Arrow (2nd skill in Elven form) can stun enemies for up to 2.5 seconds, making it one of the longest stuns in the game!
- During his time on the Advanced Server before release, his second Elven Form skill, name = Abyssal Arrow, lasted up to 4 seconds, which was later reduced to 3 seconds due to it being an overwhelming CC for a single skill.
- Selena's Abyssal skin "Lady Vengeance" pays a wicked homage to Kerrigan from Starcraft.
- Selena's Zenith skin "Curse of Cinder" is a reference to Ashes. In Selena Zenith's story, her half-sisters call her Little Ash. The name "Cinder" is also a shortened form of "Cinderella", from the classic fairy tale. Additionally, her outfit, theme, and skin story are inspired by it, while Vexana's Zenith skin is inspired by Snow White.
- She and her older sister, Karina, share their Japanese voice actor, Nokubi Naoko.
- The voice actress of her S. T. U. N. skin in the 2021 515 Together music video, Kim Eun Jae, is known for providing vocals for Rumi from Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters. Coincidentally, both characters belong to the same species as half-demons.
