Even though the sophisticated concepts and small jobs of the craftsmen had little to do with Lolita, she occupied herself as much as she could every day, and even when the tasks were boring and insignificant, she always gave her best.

From time to time, she looked with fascination at Noumenon's flaming red energy core, the precious Starlium reactor, which was also the workshop's power source. This wasn't just any ordinary workshop furnace, as it also served as Eruditio's power generator. And as long as it remained burning, Eruditio would never stop moving forward.

Lolita lived in the workshop and the heat of the fire had always accompanied her in her sleep. Every time she remembered the night the war broke out, the souls of the dead always let out a painful wail that haunted her. And every time it happened. a tall, inscrutable figure of steel would always stand before her, leading her to the warmth of Eruditio.

Although Lolita didn't remember his face, she clearly remembered that he had an unknown mark on his back that looked like a tree. So, Lolita concluded that it must be a tree that grew in the desert and that this tree served as hope for a future oasis.

But when she learned that it was the symbol of the Eruditio Rangers. Lolita decided to join them and protect the city like they did.

So she had to train, and it took her exactly 49 tries to finally accept the cruel reality that she wasn't good at fighting. Her gentleness proved a disadvantage on the battlefield, she was not able to maneuver freely and repel merciless and destructive attacks, and even the shield magic of her elven blood did not make her a more intimidating opponent.

She looked at her thin little arms that couldn't even lift the slightly larger hammer, it was her – a 'piece of low-grade ore that probably didn't contain any iron'. She sighed deeply, disappointed in herself for having no talents.

Late at night, Lolita was awakened by an explosion and saw the workshop catching fire. An unidentified enemy had launched a surprise attack. The Guardian Artisans covered Lolita and retreated to the core, the last line of defense. If the Noumenon Energy Core is damaged. the consequences would be unthinkable.

Suddenly, Lolita saw her past flash before her eyes. It was as if she was back in the war-lit village of her childhood. The same moans of pain, the same helpless eyes and the same weakness that needed protection. Grief. guilt. cowardice, anger... a mix of emotions arose, but his body froze.

Indeed, a “low-grade ore” like this will never become “steel”...

She became determined and looked at the still blazing core.

"That's right. The element iron can be found everywhere in nature, but is only revealed in extreme heat... Can you stand it?"

Without a word. his body started to move. Everything around her remained still: the sound of gunshots, explosions and screams faded, and there was only one target in her eyes: Noumenon's energy core. No matter the cost, she will protect this land...

Suddenly, a blinding light burst into the sky. and they were the flames of life.

After an indeterminate time, Lolita had difficulty opening her eyes, and there stood before her this tree, the tall silhouette.

“What...did I do?” Lolita mumbled.

“You touched the core with your bare hands and it’s a miracle you’re still alive.” » said the man with admiration.
