Analysis in progress
The data for Balmond is up to date — it comes straight from the wiki. What's missing is the commentary: what the hero actually does, their builds and their counters. That can't be extracted; it has to be written.

Story
Orcs are a race with a long history and perhaps the most widespread among those in the Land of Dawn. Throughout the mists of time, they served under the Lord of the Abyss as they fought throughout the fierce endless war; and also engaged humanity in savage battle during the Golden Age. A series of successive defeats left the once-strong United Demi-Humans divided into Orcs, Minotaurs, and Centaurs, among other peoples. It also left them deprived of their homes, forced into exile and to the southern lands where they led a meager existence.
Despite all of this, it seemed that fate had not yet finished playing with this ancient race. As the Abyss encroached once again, powerful demons once again emerged from the south, posing a perilous threat to their dwindling orc populations. Under the oppression of the demons, the Orcs were divided into several small clans scattered across the vast expanse of the roaring desert, exploited to the maximum.
Balmond was born into a traditional orc tribe in the Roaring Wilderness, and from a young age his father had always taught him all kinds of fighting techniques. Along with this, he would also regale her with tiles of the Orcs' ancient glories; how they once resided in their homeland north of the Lantis Mountains and their millennia of fierce battles fought against elves and humans. He hoped that Balmond would, one day, be able to become a true Orc leader and restore them to their former glory.
Over twenty years later, Balmond had become a powerful Orc under his father's teaching. And all the while, the brutality of the demons had instilled deep, dark memories in Balmond, only making him yearn even more for the day when the Orcs could return to power, bringing back their once great kingdom. To this end, young Balmond not only trained tirelessly, but also devoted himself to the study of all kinds of ancient orc tomes, which gave him astute strategic knowledge.
But that was when the flames of war were just beginning to ignite. In order to amass the strength necessary to attack the Empire, the terrible demons tirelessly invaded the Orc tribes, plundering and plundering their resources, causing the Orcs untold suffering. Before this, the Orcs were powerless to resist the demonic forces and had no choice but to submit to preserve peace, however short it may be. But this time, Balmond led the warriors of his clan into battle and killed the demon leader who had come to steal their resources, thus triggering the Orc rebellion. The Orc race had had enough of the oppression of the demons, and now each tribe lent their strength to Balmond: they were no longer scattered clans, instead becoming a truly powerful force to be reckoned with. The rebellion spread across the Roaring Wilderness like wildfire.
Under Balmond's command, the fierce orc warriors successfully repelled the demonic armies that came to suppress them, dealing them a heavy blow.
This gigantic counterattack launched by the Orcs shocked the demons, angering Lord Lava, Thamuz. He sent many terrible troops composed of blood demons and demons into the roaring desert, for he would never resist his demons in the miserable wastes.
Despite the disparity in power, a constant fight to the death between the Orcs and the demons raged, but the demons were surging like a tidal wave and things were starting to get worse for the Orcs. Their power diminished day by day, their defensive lines narrowed until they were entirely surrounded.
To protect his race from extinction, Balmond decided to fight to the end and led an effort to break through their ranks. In this fierce battle, the demons poured in again, their numbers seemingly endless, and the bodies of the orc warriors were scattered all around as they advanced. Balmond trembled in fury and threw aside his now dull battle ax as he grabbed a demon by the neck to bite its throat, severing its head with his teeth.
Yet this attack sent large amounts of demonic blood into Balmond's body, resulting in an incredible transformation. This fueled him as he went completely berserk, with unimaginable power he used to break through enemy lines. The Orcs were flooded with demonic blood, unleashing within them a fearsome fighting power that shook their demonic oppressors to the very core. New possibilities had presented themselves, causing them to change their plans to eliminate the Orcs.
To this end, the cunning Alice managed to track down Balmond and present him with an offer: once the Empire was defeated, the entire Roaring Wilderness would be returned to the Orc peoples in exchange for Balmond's loyalty to the demons. In order to preserve the power of his Orc brothers, Balmond reached an agreement with Alice and his forces swore fealty to the Abyss. They would then serve as the vanguard forces of the demons as they stormed Azrya.
However, even Alice could never have imagined that an even bigger plan was brewing deep within Balmond's mind. First, he would order demonic forces to enter the Moonlight Forest and occupy the elven kingdom, where he would steadily build up his strength.
Following this, the union of the Orcs and the rebirth of their kingdom for which they had aspired for millennia would finally come true.
Did you know?
- Balmond's old design is still visible in his "Bloodlust" skill icon.
- The previous iteration of Balmond was likely inspired by the character Ax from Dota: Allstars, itself based on Grommash Hellscream from World of Warcraft in its 2021 lore.
- His current voice actor, Patrick Seitz, is famous for his voice as Garrosh Hellscream, the son of Grommash Hellscream and the leader of the Warsong clan before his death. The similarity of these characters is that they are both axe-wielding orcs.
- In his old lore, he went from being Alice's slave to being a mutually exploited ally in his 2021 lore. However, his lore was changed in the Season 40 update.
- Balmond's "Heavenly General" (now "Mountain God") is the skin with the longest release delay; it was supposed to release in 2018 but the skin was released in August 2021 for the Grand Collection event.
- He is known within the community as he can be seen in almost every MLBB Google ad.
