• During the Determination event, Thamuz claims himself as the Dark Lord and wishes name=Lunox|image=Lunox to join him.
• Thamuz appears in the lore of name=Helcurt|image=Helcurt, in which when name=Helcurt|image=Helcurt was charged with defending the Sovereign of the Abyss, name=Obsidia|image=Obsidia, the opposing forces marching towards her palace were led by none other than Lord Lava himself.
• In the Dyrroth trailer, Thamuz praises name=Dyrroth|image=Dyrroth, seeing a part of himself in the Demon Prince, mentioning that he "inherited his brutality and his valor".
• name=Dyrroth|image=Dyrroth also mentions Thamuz in one of his voice lines, mocking how his enemy should have been taught by Thamuz instead, praising his own technique.
• Thamuz is also half-heartedly mentioned in two of name=Helcurt|image=Helcurt's voice lines, describing him as a "walking puddle of lava with a pair of dull blades", while calling him out in a mocking tone. Their relationship could be attributed to that of father and pet.
• Thamuz appears to show genuine empathy towards his species, portraying him as a strict but well-meaning leader, prioritizing the survival of his tribe above all else, as shown in multiple artworks posted to official accounts.
• A figure that closely resembles Thamuz appears in the name=Nolan|image=Nolan cutscene, in which he talks about the origins of Light and Darkness and the Age of Strife. Considering that the events took place at an unknown time in the past, one could hypothesize that Thamuz has been fighting for the Abyss for longer than expected.
• With the recent change in Thamuz lore mentioning an ancient Lava Lord, it could also be that this character is one of the ancient Lava Lords.
• In Mobile Legends Adventure, Thamuz encountered name=Uranus|image=Uranus several times over an unspecified period of time. Every time name=Uranus|image=Uranus sees him, her hatred for him grows each time. === Fire Demon Biology ===
• In the name=Obsidia|image=Obsidia concept video, Thamuz's race, the Fire Demons, do not appear to naturally grow their heads as they do in typical depictions of their species. This could suggest that Thamuz may have carved it himself to assert his dominance as the rightful Lord of Lava.
• This is further reinforced by the entry in Chapter 1 of his Mastery Code, where Thamuz is described as having "forged his body from lava".
• The molten cores found inside a Fire Demon's chest constitute its life force. As long as it exists, the Fire Demon cannot die.
• Thamuz's scythes are extensions of his body, made entirely of crystallized shards from his own molten core. Thamuz scythes are made specifically from obsidian. === Belerick sacrificed himself! Who is responsible? ===
• During the Abyss' invasion of the Moonlight Forest (in "Belerick Sacrificed Himself! Who's Responsible?"), Thamuz indirectly killed Belerick, as he sacrificed his life to defend the Tree of Life.
• When name=Belerick|image=Belerick was revived, his skills were retooled to better counter opponents who continuously deal damage. One of these enemies is Thamuz.
• It is unknown if name=Belerick|image=Belerick grew specifically to defend against him.
• However, there are many real cases of plants evolving and adapting to specific threats. === The demons are approaching ===
• In the official comic "Demons Approaching", Thamuz reveals that he is in possession of one of the "Nine Demon Lords of the Abyss", an orange crystal that Astaros recognizes as "Gamunti". However, due to the new tradition of name=Phoveus|image=Phoveus, it is unclear whether this remains canon or not. === The Abyss: Will of the Sovereign / Post-Rework ===
• In the Sovereign's Will cutscene, Thamuz interrupts name=Alice|image=Alice and name=Dyrroth|image=Dyrroth from harvesting name=Obsidia|image=Obsidia's blood. Convinced that his corruption still lives in his blood, he expresses his frustration at name=Obsidia|image=Obsidia's past crimes against his people, corrupting them into the Spawns of Decay.
• Shortly after, Thamuz encounters a hesitant corrupted Fire Demon before being forced to kill it, further fueling his rage.
• Due to the Fire Demon's small size, it is possible that Thamuz was forced to kill a young member of his species, making this the second depiction of the death of a young, the first being Mila, in name=Arlott|image=Arlott's lore.
• In the Season 38 seasonal storyline, name=Obsidia|image=Obsidia encounters a Fire Demon corrupted by the God of Darkness and on the verge of transforming into the Spawn of Decay, collapsing as he fears not only for himself, but also for his tribe members.
• The fire demon, in his final moments, isolates himself from the rest of his people to protect them from diseases, in the name of Lord Thamuz. === Sea Nexus ===
• The Annihilator is heavily based on H.P. Lovecraft and his works of cosmic horror, primarily from the Cthulhu Mythos, in which beings commonly known as "Outer Gods" (a term popularized by the heavily Lovecraft-inspired role-playing game "Call of Cthulhu") exist beyond human comprehension.
• They are described to serve purposes far beyond mortal comprehension, and are known by many names (in Thamuz's case he is also known as "The Great Scourge"), very similar to the lore that accompanies the skin.
• Additionally, a squid-shaped buckle adorned with wings can be seen on his model, strongly reminiscent of the more common depiction of Cthulhu (the titular Outer God).
• Some vocal lines in The Annihilator directly reference Thamuz's original vocal lines.
• “I am the will of the abyss.” / “I am the will of destruction, the end of all realities.”
• “Everything will burn!” / “All will perish!”
• “Annihilation awaits.” / “Annihilation awaits all who oppose me.”

• === Miscellaneous ===
• The original Thamuz hero showcase video on the official YouTube channel has undergone an abrupt change in thumbnail design.
• Thamuz had four different walking animations for his scytheless form throughout his development.
• On the advanced server before its release, Thamuz was running on all fours without his scythes.
• Upon release, he instead walked on his hind legs, leaning slightly inward, with his arms extended outward.
• During his software overhaul in patch 1.6.84 on May 24, 2022, his posture was changed to be more upright and began jogging, closer to how a human person would run. However, this change would soon be reverted to the previous version with an unknown number of subsequent updates.
• During his September 17, 2025 overhaul, he received a new scythe-free animation, similar to the one removed in patch 1.6.84.
• Thamuz was the first hero introduced by the Abyss faction, preceding heroes like name=Alice|image=Alice, name=Dyrroth|image=Dyrroth, and name=Selena|image=Selena in the story.
• His passive Grand Lord Lava was one of the first abilities in the game to consistently deal true damage based on enemies' HP.
• Some players compare his look to Balrog from Lord of the Rings or Ifrit from Final Fantasy.

• Thamuz's Starlight skin, Sanctified Flame, had an unexpected change in patch 1.8.08. Originally, his Starlight Skin's card design showed a tongue in his mouth, but has since been transformed into a hollow blue energy. The reason for this change is currently unknown.
